New Meta social network receives criticism from Elon Musk and Jack Dorsey

After the pages related to the new Meta app – Threads – appeared in virtual stores, the current owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, and co-founder, Jack Dorsey, soon went public to 'point the finger' at the rival platform.

Dorsey shared a publication where he criticized Threads' privacy policy, showing an image that indicates that the new social network may collect potentially sensitive data from customers. In addition to contacts, the user must also be willing to share location, shopping, health, personal finance and other sensitive data with Meta.

BUT: Meta launches a new social network to rival Twitter

"All your Threads belong to us", wrote Dorsey in reference to an old meme. Musk responded to this publication by the co-founder of Twitter showing that he agrees with Dorsey's assessment of not trusting this new Meta app.

It should be remembered that Meta (Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp) does not have a positive track record with regard to the collection and management of sensitive user data, so it will be a matter of time before we see whether Threads will be able to compete with Musk's Twitter and even with Bluesky, backed by Dorsey.
