New vulnerability discovered on Android devices

A Check Point Software Technologies, Lda has announced that its investigators have discovered a vulnerability affecting Android devices. The highlight is aimed at leading manufacturers, Samsung, LG, HTC and ZTE. The findings were made public during the Black Hat event, one of the largest in security.

The affected manufacturers were all duly informed of the existence of the vulnerability of name Certifi-gate. This allows certain applications to illegally gain privileged access rights through remote support applications, pre-installed on the device, or installed upon subsequent intrusion.

Invaders have the illicit command of the device and can steal personal data or activate the microphone, to record and monitor conversations and other actions.
