EMIS 'virtual wallet called “Multicaixa Express” has been active for some weeks.
On April 24, EMIS made the official launch, according to José Matos (EMIS PCE), the new interbank payment channel offered by EMIS intends to become the most important vehicle that drives the banking and massification of electronic payments.
As we show this article, Multicaixa Express now allows payment for various services such as charging the mobile phone, paying bills, paying television and internet subscription, buying airline tickets, recharging energy, checking balances and movements, making transfers and requests for withdrawals without card. The great advantage of the application is the possibility of adding several cards (up to 25 cards from different banks), reducing the need to have several applications from different banking institutions.
And when to the possibility of online payments?
According to the declarations of the manager of EMIS, in a few months, the payment with multiple debit card of purchases made on the Internet will be a reality. The month ahead for this feature is August.
"It is safe since it uses security protocols and algorithms, guaranteeing the confidentiality, integrity and authentication of transmitted, processed and stored data, following the required security standards".
So far it is not clear how EMIS will use this virtual wallet for online purchases. Some possible options:
- Use the phone number associated with Multicaixa Express
- Use multi-card number
- Create a new reference associated with the Multicaixa Express service
However, it's just assumptions, we'll see which model EMIS will choose to make online payment easier.
