Lifting operations by automatic payment terminal (TPA) had a significant increase in the first two months of the year, January and February, growing 39 percent compared to the same period in 2023, to 167.297 operations.

The information was revealed National Bank of Angola (BNA), where he stated that, from January to February, an amount of 1.171 million kwanzas was recorded, “which denotes an evolutionary trend”.

In last year's calculation, a global amount of something more than 6 billion Kwanzas was recorded in cash withdrawals by TPA, with a total of 429.613 operations.

The central bank explains the withdrawals by TPA by the urgency of guaranteeing a broader offer of payment services that meets the needs of the population, given the current context of informality in the economy.

Therefore, the TPA withdrawal service was established to ensure the availability of an additional channel for obtaining cash, allowing “the objective to be considered to have been achieved”, declared the BNA in the note.

The BNA's objective is to move towards the digitalization of payments, with emphasis on the recent implementation of the Arranjo KWIK instant transfer system.
