CPLP countries encouraged to invest in the digitalization of Education

The countries of Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) must invest in the digitalization of Education, providing “students with the appropriate tools for the challenges of the future”, according to the institution’s Executive Secretariat, João Ima-Panzo.

The person in charge who spoke at the opening of the 14th Technical Meeting of the Education focal points of the Portuguese-speaking community, which kicked off in São Tomé and Príncipe, in his speech launched the challenge to “reflect on the digitalization of Education”, highlighting that “the The world is advancing at a dizzying, dizzying speed and education is focused on the future", what "must capture social trends for life in society in the future, achieving the professionalization of staff".

"Today, digitalization is increasingly required, not only in terms of school organization, but as an imperative need to take it as a pedagogical objective in our schools: educating for digitalization, so that our students have the necessary tools to meet the challenges of your time”, said João Ima-Panzo.

The representative of the Executive Secretariat highlighted that “education within the framework of CPLP multilateral cooperation is the social space in which the development of human capital flourishes, assuming that in it people reach their full potential and contribute to the growth of people and social, economic and environmental development".

He highlighted the CPLP Strategic Plan for Multilateral Cooperation in Education, for the period 2022 – 2026 and the action plan 2022 – 2024, which provided “important instruments for carrying out cooperation in the field of education”, registering progress, namely, with “the launch of the CPLP-friendly schools pilot project” to contribute to the promotion of the Portuguese language and the values ​​of peace and democracy that guide the organization.
