The National Police (PN) presented, this Monday, in the country's capital, five citizens presumably belonging to a network of criminals dedicated to the cloning of ATM cards and who fraudulently withdraw money from customer accounts.

According to the spokesman for the Police in Luanda, Superintendent Nestor Goubel, he informed that the individuals, between 30 and 59 years old and two of whom were Nigerian nationals, were detained in the municipality of Quiçama, in Luanda.

The criminal network used an electronic device to clone ATM cards, with which they fraudulently subtracted monetary values ​​from the bank accounts of several citizens.

The Police action, continues Nestor Goubel, was motivated by several complaints about the cloning of multicaixa cards and consequent fraudulent payments and transfers of monetary values ​​from the bank accounts of several citizens, in Luanda.

The last case, he said, occurred in the commune of Cabo Ledo, when a citizen denounced that, despite having the multicaixa card in his possession, he noticed that movements were being made in his account. The complaint led to the initiation of an investigative process that resulted in the arrest of the accused.
