National Police promotes digital education campaign in schools in Lubango

A National Police (PN) In the province of Huila, a campaign on digital education has recently started in several schools in the city of Lubango, with the aim of preventing cybercrime among students, as many of them use social networks as a stage.

According to the PN spokesman in Huíla, Chief Inspector Fernando Tongo, the campaign will run until the 29th of November of the current year, during several sessions it will debate digital education, information security on the internet and cyber crimes, in order to awaken ethics and civility in the origin of communication in virtual environments.

The said campaign will encompass the Higher Polytechnic Institutes Gregório Semedo, Polytechnic Institute of Lubango, the 27 de Março, 14 de Abril, Portuguesa schools, as well as Pitágoras, 1.2.3, Esperança, Evangelical schools, among other educational institutions in Lubango.

"We have seen crimes on the internet, especially on social networks, such as the false profiles of people who pretend to be high leaders and deceive others, many of the victims lose monetary values, others are killed by encounters with people they do not know personally”, said the spokesperson.

Chief Inspector Fernando Tongo also added that cybercrime is on the rise in the province, hence the corporation has started a campaign called “communicate safely".

Finally, he stressed that the action is a way to intensify actions to combat cyber crimes, having as a target group in addition to higher education students, general education students, teachers and guardians.
