“Digital Citizen” project reached more than 600 thousand people, reveals EMIS

More than six hundred thousand Angolan citizens have been raised awareness about digital inclusion since 2022, as part of the implementation of the project “Digital Citizen“, from the Interbank Services Company (EMIS).

The information was revealed in the company's most recent report on the project, highlighting that the initiative has been of great relevance for digital inclusion in Angola, as it seeks to promote digital literacy and facilitate access to technology.

According to the document, the “Digital Citizen” project has had a positive impact on Angolans, especially in peripheral regions and rural areas, where access to the internet and digital services is limited.

It points out that it was launched with the aim of training the population in essential skills for digital life, such as the use of smartphones, access to online public service platforms, management of digital bank accounts, and the use of education and employment tools available on the internet.

He explains that they are developing with the support of public-private partnerships, which offer training in technology and digital literacy in several provinces, mainly benefiting young people, women, the elderly and small entrepreneurs.

Reports that training is offered free of charge, using community centers, schools and public spaces and adapted to guarantee access for all, with a focus on practical training adapted to the reality of each community.

He highlighted that the project offers modules ranging from the basic use of mobile devices to the creation of simple technological solutions for local businesses, such as the use of social networks to promote products, services and develop e-commerce.
