The DIGITAL CIDADÃO project, which aims to ensure the safe use of digital channels and the implementation of digital financial security, was launched last week in Benguela, in order to promote the safe use of digital payment channels and avoid financial threats .

According to the Administrator of Interbank Services Company (EMIS), Pedro de Abreu, the objective of the campaign in the province is to reach more than 60 thousand people by 2024 and that the project began in September last year, in Luanda, where more than 200 thousand people were reached.

In turn, on behalf of the Provincial Government of Benguela, the director of local Education, Edmundo Salupula, said that it is important to raise awareness among the population in the use of new information technologies, expressing confidence in the success of the initiative in the province.

CIDADÃO DIGITAL is an EMIS project with the support of National Bank of Angola (BNA), which also aims to raise awareness of “best practices” for use and ways to avoid financial threats to users on digital platforms.
