
O Virtual School project, being implemented at the “Augusto Ngagula” School Complex, in the municipality of Caála, Huambo province, in an initiative by UNITEL, achieved satisfactory results, in two years of implementation, it was revealed in an official note.
According to the Science, Technology and Innovation department of the Education office in the province of Huambo, Graciano Sacalei Freitas, the project is running smoothly, and in the current academic year, it covered hundreds of students from the 4th to the 9th classes, who, through a properly monitored system, they seize various contents.
Through this program, he added, students from schools nº 1 “Augusto Ngangula”, access the virtual school, at any time, place, an innovative and advantageous fact for the teaching/learning process.
Therefore, he valued the choice of the province of Huambo and the municipality of Caála, in particular, for the pilot project, as it encourages UNITEL's continued investment and partnership in Angolan general education.
BUT: “Virtual School” project will be extended from one to three years
It ensured greater engagement from the Education sector, the Caála Administration, teachers, parents and guardians in achieving the objectives of this program.
Meanwhile, the UNITEL technical team hopes for greater synchrony between all those involved in the project, whose expansion throughout the country largely depends on the success of the pilot schools in the provinces of Bié and Huambo.
In two years of implementation, in addition to training teachers, the initiative made tablets, computers and a business internet distribution system available.
Each medium is designed to be shared by two students and, at the same time, trained teachers have the mission of disseminating knowledge to others, in support of the program's challenges.
