BUT: Huambo receives the first Virtual School to promote digital inclusion in the education system

Agostinho Neto pointed out that the "Eunice de Carvalho Virtual School" already covers more than 630 students from primary to the II cycle of the provinces of Bié and Huambo, a project that includes the distribution of tablets for students, laptops for teachers, projectors in classrooms and an internet device, digital manuals and other pedagogical methods, to complement traditional practices.

The person in charge also advises against changing trained teachers included in the project, with the aim of combining traditional and digital teaching models, with a requirement for the correct handling of the available computer resources.

The “Eunice de Carvalho Virtual School” comes through a memorandum of understanding between MED, UNITEL and HUAWEI Angola, for improving the quality of national education, as well as learning and promoting digital inclusion in the education system.

The objective of the agreement between the institutions is to apply virtual teaching, in a first phase, to teachers and students from schools in the provinces of Huambo and Bié, where Huawei Angola will supply equipment and technological solutions such as computers and projectors, while UNITEL Internet access and connectivity in schools, stimulating the habit of research and learning.
