What treatment should be given to electronic waste?

Mobile phones, computers, tablets, pen-drives, cameras, consoles. What do these and other electronics all have in common? Affirmative; after a certain time they stop working and spoil. There are many reasons for their failure, such as incorrect or improper use, exposure to sunlight, contact with water or other liquids, disuse and even when consumed by ants and other insects.

With luck these will last for more than two years, however, the constant advent of new, bigger and better electronic ones causes people to invest the money of a possible repair, in a new item.

The first thing that comes to mind is to buy another device to replace the damaged one, and so we go on with life without further interruptions.
In Angola, unfortunately, we do not yet have specific points for the disposal of damaged electronics or, as they are also called, electronic waste and they are mixed with normal waste, which is a great risk to the environment.
In that regard, there is still much to do. However, we can begin by diminishing in consumerism; buy the necessary and when necessary.
In a more artistic way, there are different and functional ways to make them useful and reuse them as decorative elements for the home or office.

Therefore, some measures can be taken to help in the efficient operation and long-term of your electronic, such as avoiding contact with liquids (the darker the liquid, the more difficult the recovery of the device), keep it away from dusty or dirty places, turn it off when not in use (the warmth of the equipment attracts insects), do not leave it in places neither too hot nor too cold.

Do you know of any companies in Angola that correctly dispose of electronic waste?
