A Samsung has launched four new mid-range smartphones in the Kenyan market, in order to compete with brands already operating in that African country such as Oppo.
Kenya is a country that has seen considerable growth in terms of mobile phone users, Samsung believes that with the launch of the Galaxy J7 Duo, J4, J6 and A6 + brands, it will gain more users in the Kenyan market. In Kenya, operators have mainly focused on accessibility, with high quality features as the main selling point for smartphones.
According to statistics, in Kenya the mobile phone brand Tecno leads the market with 38% share, followed by Samsung with 17%. The country has 42 million smartphone users.
The IDC survey published in December 2017, advanced that the Tecno brand, leads in adoption in Africa with 30,1% compared to Samsung, with 26,1%.
