Seagate is always showing its fascination for the storage solutions with external hard drive to take your breath away. The Seagate Innov8 hard drive is the world's first 3,5 inch external hard drive with the storage capacity of 8TB (terabytes), powered by a single USB-C cable, without the need for a second cable for additional power.
This monstrous external hard drive of 8 terabytes, which will be released next month for $ 350, the Innov8 will be a perfect companion for many recently released laptops.
The Innov8 is not as small as its Seagate Seven brother, but we can imagine that most people will keep it on their desks, anyway. Its casing is aluminum exclusive and at this moment it has already received the prize Red Dot Design Award, in addition to the fact that we can position it both vertically and horizontally, depending on each person’s preference, the storage solution for Seagate includes the Seagate Dashboard utility for easy backup at regular intervals, plus 200 GB in the clouds for Microsoft OneDrive.
The project is very similar to those of LaCie, which should come as no surprise, since Seagate bought the style-centric company back on 2012 and seems to have learned from it then in recent years.
This probably will not be the fastest disk released in the market, although the 3.1 USB should keep transfer rates very fast. The big surprise of Innov8 runs all over its size, and the solitary USB plug-C. It's enough to hold "more than two million songs, four trillion photos and eight hundred HD movies," estimates Seagate.
