The Finance/Banking sector is the industry that has suffered the most from hacker attacks in Angola, reveals the latest Global Threat Index report Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd., which the editors of MenosFios had access to.
According to the February investigation, the sectors of ISP/MSP and Communications services appear in second and third place, respectively, where it also highlighted that o Emotet remains the world's most dangerous malware, impacting 5% of organizations worldwide. It is closely followed by Formbook, with an impact of 3%, and at Glupteba, with an impact of 2%.
Still talking about our country, the list is headed by Phorpiex, with a national impact of 25%. follow the xHelper, an infostealer that steals credentials and captures screens, as well as recording keystrokes, which in Angola impacted 13,46% of organizations; it's the Glupteba, a botnet with an impact of 11,54%.
Phorpiex is a botnet (aka Trik) that has been active since 2010 and at its peak ccame to control more than a million infected devices. It is known to distribute other malware families via spam campaigns as well as support large-scale spam campaigns and sextortion campaigns..

xHelper it's amalicious android application that was seen in the wild in March 2019, used to download malicious apps and display advertisements. The application is able to hide itself from the user, being able to reinstall itself in case the user uninstalls it.
Glupteba, cKnown since 2011, it is a backdoor that has matured to become a botnet. In 2019, it included an update of a C&C (Comand & Control) mechanism through public BitCoin lists, which enables it to completely steal borwser information and exploit routers.
