Google and Apple are under pressure to remove the app from TikTok in the US, with a Democratic senator writing a letter addressed to the two technology companies.

Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado writes that the "extensive influence and aggressive data collection" pose a specific threat to US national security, noting that the company responsible is subject to obligations imposed by the Chinese government.

"In light of these serious and growing concerns, I urge you to immediately remove TikTok from your app stores.", Bennet asks Google and Apple in the letter publicly shared.
