Within the scope of providing excellence and high-quality operability, the UNITEL extended in December 2021, Voice and Data services in 4G technology in 9 more locations in 7 Provinces of the Country, namely: Sumbe Province of Cuanza Sul, Cabal Luanda province, cacuso Malanje Province, Caluquembe province of Huila, Camacúpa e andulo Bie Province, tumble e Quinzau province of Zaire and fucauma Province of Lunda Norte.

The 3G and 4G services, already available in 516 locations, communes and municipalities in the country, allow voice and data transmission (browsing websites, downloading and using online applications more quickly).

4G now covers the capitals of the 18 Provinces of Angola, and has a deployment of 28,7% in Municipalities and over 12,8% in Communes.

With more than 14 kilometers of Fiber Optic, of which around 13 are already in service, UNITEL has been a real driver of technological development by providing a network capable of supporting the transmission of voice and data calls with quality, reliability and speed. of transmission, essential factors for the success and excellence of the service provided to its Customers.

The interventions that have been carried out on the UNITEL network since November have made it possible to improve the signal, in addition to consolidating the extension of services and the basic infrastructure for 5G.

It is recalled that on December 30, UNITEL SA (Angola) and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) successfully completed the first 5G data call in Angola using an allocated mid-band spectrum of 3,5 GHz.

The 5G infrastructure used was supported by Ericsson 5G Radio Core and Access technologies, for NSA networks (Non Stand Alone🇧🇷 These solutions will enable a rapid market launch of 5G, leveraging existing network infrastructure and focusing on enhanced mobile broadband to provide greater data bandwidth and reliable connectivity, namely to the Internet.
