O Criminal Investigation Service (SIC) detained, in the country's capital, four national citizens involved in cybercrimes, translated into cloning of multicaixa cards.

According to SIC spokesperson, Manuel Halaiwa, speaking to journalists, he informed that the arrest of the individuals took place on the 12th, following the criminal involvement of a 47-year-old Portuguese citizen. In her participation, the injured party alleged strange movements in her account, such as payments, transfers and withdrawals via ATM, with more than two million kwanzas being deducted on the 11th.

The employee also highlighted that the citizen, after noticing strange movements in her bank account, went to the bank, without, however, being able to explain what was happening, because it was a post-work period.

The following day, he added, in addition to participating in the panel, the citizen went to the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), where she reported the criminal action.

The SIC, he explained, launched an operational action that culminated in the arrest, in flagrante delicto, of a citizen, the leader of the gang, when he was in an outbuilding to withdraw money at the counter, after several attempts at the terminals. automatic payment (TPA and ATM), when the account was already captive.

"Subsequently, three more members of the group were arrested".

The SIC spokesperson made it known that, following investigations, it was discovered that the detainees had cloned other cards, most notably that of a company, with the intention of withdrawing 14 million kwanzas from the bank account.

Manuel Halaiwa said that, in the possession of the detainees, four debit cards (multicaixa) were found, from different banks, but with information from other banks, such as Banco Sol, which, in fact, contains information from BFA. He highlighted that, of the cards seized, three belong to Portuguese citizens.
