Sony is preparing to launch a new, and more powerful, version of PlayStation 4 with ultra high definition graphics.
The new console was dubbed “Neo“, It will cost more than the current PS4. That information was confirmed by Andrew House, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, who also revealed that the new model is being developed to “accompany and complement the normal PS4” and that the two versions will be sold “throughout their life cycle” . Regarding the price, the head of Sony did not reveal exactly how much the PS4 Neo will actually cost, but stated that its price will be higher than 350 USD of the current version
The updated console could also mean optimized rendering in virtual reality, as Sony will launch the PlayStation VR later this year. PS4 has been the most successful in the current generation of game consoles, surpassing both Xbox One and Wii U. To give you an idea, PS4 has sold around 40 million units ... imagine the profit (and the joy of Sony).
When confirming plans for an upgraded PlayStation 4, Sony is one step ahead of Microsoft which aims to update consumers on the new version of Xbox One.
