SonyHeadQuartersLast month we reported that Sony would be in the process of trading its entire line of computers, including the Vaio brand, for a Japanese investment fund, Japan Industrial Partners Inc ("JIP"). According to the The Wall Street Journal, this week Sony put on sale what is considered one of the icons of the company throughout its years of existence, its original headquarters in the city of Tokyo.

It does not have an official sales price but it could yield Sony something around 15 billion yen (147 million dollars). This was the building that saw the birth of the Walkman, Triniton, where the first sketches of the PlayStation came out and was used by Sony as its headquarter from 1990 to 2007.

This measure is part of the company's restructuring plan being implemented by its CEO, which includes its headquarters buildings already sold in New York (USA) for 1.1 billion in Osaka (Japan) for the same value and entire line of computers to JIP.

Things are really bad for what has once been the giant number 1 of world technology.
