O Spotify appears to have decided to go back on the decision to present song lyrics only to subscribers of its streaming service.
The ability to view song lyrics playing on Spotify has always been available to all users of the service, regardless of whether they paid for the subscription or not.
However, the Swedish company decided in May to start a test in which a subscription was required to access this functionality. It seems that the test did not go as Spotify expected and this functionality is now available to all users again.

In a statement sent to the Engadget website, Spotify states that the company “always testing and improving” the service, noting that “Feature availability may vary between plans, markets and devices”.
“In the coming weeks, we will expand the availability of Lyrics to free Spotify users so that more people can enjoy viewing more lyrics globally.”, can be read in the statement.
