O Spotify released its 2022 retrospective this Wednesday (30) with the most heard artists in Angola and in the world throughout the year. The platform action is already something common, since it also happened in 2021, 2020, 2019 and several other previous years. Similarly, podcast programs also gain prominence on this list.

Most heard artists in Angola in 2022

International artists are still the most heard by Angolans on Spotify, with Drake conquering the place of artist with more streamed in Angola. It is followed by The Weeknd, while T-Rex is the national artist best placed in the top, at No. 5, followed by Gerilson Insrael at No. 9.

Brazilian artists continue to be in the “mouth” of Angolans, appearing in the second half of the top 10, with artists Matuê and Teto making an appearance. Brazilian group Mainstreet is the streaming band most listened to by Angolans, while singer Marília Mendonça is the best-placed female artist on the list, despite her tragic death in a plane crash in 2021.

The national hit Versos & Poesias #4: Céu Azul, a collab track with Dj Black Spygo, Penelas Sidney, Chelsea Dinorath and others is the most reproduced Angolan song, being in the number 4 position in the top. Nigerian artist Rema takes the No. 5 position with Calm Down, with his wildly popular 2022 release featuring Selena Gomez.
