Startup Biorec presents prosthetics made from plastic bottles

The startup Biorec, which aims to promote mobility for people with physical disabilities for better social inclusion, recently presented a prosthesis made from plastic bottles.

The presentation of the innovative project took place in an activity organized by UNICEF, to celebrate International Youth Day, where the Founders informed that they intend to reach the milestone of 30 orthopedic prostheses built by the year 2025.

Speaking to journalists, young orthopedists, engineers and product designers, aged between 18 and 22, explained that the initiative came about to help a school friend who lost his lower limbs.

The startup is currently working on a pilot project that will benefit ten people, of which one is missing to complete the picture.

Please note that Biorec was the winning startup of the Investment Center of the 3st edition of AngoTic, taking home 1.000.000 (One Million Kwanzas).
