"When I received the information, I doubted it for some time, because, in general, video game developers and people linked to technology areas have a pattern of self-sabotage. Especially when we come from an African country and are in international competitions, we always have a handicap“, said Marcelo Gomes, founder of the startup, in an interview with Founder Institute Luanda.
According to what was revealed by the MenosFios editorial team, the Gaming Startup Retreat is more than a simple competition, it is a unique opportunity for gaming startups to accelerate their growth in an international environment. This program offers mentorship from industry experts, access to investors and strategic collaborations, creating an environment conducive to exponential development.
"But at the end of the day, we are all winners. I was distinguished largely because of the video game that Digital Lab has in the works, which tells the story about Angola and this means that the country has talent and potential to shine at an international level. And this is already a very big step towards attracting the eyes of the rest of the world to Angola“He said.
The young entrepreneur also highlights that an Angolan startup being at the Gaming Startup Retreat highlights not only Digital Lab's innovation, but also puts Angola on the global map of the gaming industry.
