A Angolan startup WongoWongo, focused on digital skills development and technological inclusion, announced its expansion into Cape Verde, aligning with its mission to empower Africa through innovation. Founded during the pandemic to train vaccine registrars in remote areas of Angola, Wongo has already trained over 10.000 people, with an 87% completion rate.
Cape Verde is now taking on the role of development center for the Virtual Intelligent Development Avatar (VIDA), the AI avatar created by Wongo, accessible on low-connectivity devices and supporting more than 200 African languages and dialects. This strategic partnership focuses on training in Artificial Intelligence, Digital Entrepreneurship, and Project Management, prioritizing gender inclusion: 60% of places for women and 40% for men.
“Wongo was born in Angola with the purpose of empowering people through technology. From Cape Verde, we are creating a new narrative of collaborative growth for Africa and the world,” stated Rosemere Simões.
Licensed by INEFOP as the first Angolan AI center, Wongo offers accessible courses such as "AI for Entrepreneurs" and "Digital Entrepreneurship".
