The computer systems of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) of Brazil were the target of cyber attacks last week, with the systems of the Federal Police and the law firm linked to the family of Minister Alexandre de Moraes also being affected.

As reported by the CanalTech website, these cyberattacks – of the DDOS (denial of service) type – happened shortly after the announcement was made. the decision to block social network X, the result of Elon Musk not having appointed a legal representative for the company in the country as required by Brazilian law.

BUT: Starlink backtracks and will comply with X-blockade in Brazil

The STF officially confirmed this information, noting that the respective systems were inoperative for about ten minutes. “The technical team acted quickly, taking the services offline and implementing new layers of security, so that all access was normalized and there was no operational damage to the Court”, can be read in the statement.

"After the STF's decision to block the X, Anatel observed an expected increase in these attacks, which caused momentary instabilities in its systems and networks", can be read in Anatel’s statement. "In response, the Anatel team acted continuously to mitigate the impacts and ensure the safety of operations.".
