Seedstars World, the world's largest competition for startups focused exclusively on emerging markets, is organizing the fourth edition of Seedstars Africa Summit, this year in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from 11 to 13 in December.

The goal is to build bridges between the region's different ecosystems and their key players to promote technology and entrepreneurship as levers for change and development in Africa. Angola will be represented by Kubinga, the startup winner of the 2018 edition of Seedstars Africa.

Tickets can be purchased here, with discounts up to November 15!

A Seedstars Africa Summit three days in length and kicks off with Seedstars Growth Bootcamp, an opportunity for participating startups to learn from the most relevant mentors from diverse areas (growth hacking, inbound marketing and preparation for fundraising are just some examples). 12 will be the venue for the Investor Forum, with individual meetings between entrepreneurs (winners of the local editions of Seedstars World in Africa at 2018) and the most relevant investors in the sector. On the same day, Seedstars will take a guided tour of the local ecosystem (participation reserved for guests), during which it will be possible to meet the entrepreneurs and organizations that influence and lead the growth of the so-called "Silicon Dar".

The highlight of the summit will be the Conference on 13. The main stage will then receive the pitch of the winning startups of the different events of the region and the invited international speakers. There will still be time for networking, with the aim of connecting the most striking players of innovation in Africa, obtain a concrete view of the state of technology and entrepreneurship on the continent and operate a positive change in the African narrative, in particular.

"At 2017, we were able to bring together more than 400 participants, including entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, mentors and government entities. We organized around 232 private meetings between startups, mentors and investors and the feedback we received from everyone was frankly positive. This year, we plan to offer a unique experience, marked by practice, by the real experience of those who are currently leading the way to change and innovation, more than 500 participants!Says Claudia Makadristo, Regional Director for Seedstars in Africa.

The Summit is also the perfect occasion for stakeholders to learn from international practice and learn from each other in an informal and relaxed environment. O Seedstars Expansion Program, organized in partnership with the Office for Economic Affairs and Innovation (SPEI) of the Canton of Vaud (Switzerland), in collaboration with Innovaud, CVCI and Lausanne Région, supports Vaud startups so that they can implement the expansion in fast-growing economies.

International Experience

This year, the program will bring to the Seedstars Africa Summit three Swiss startups that will enjoy the opportunity to exchange experiences, make valuable contacts and learn, first hand, what African startups are doing to grow in their markets and project themselves at the level global. In this way, they will be able to adjust expectations and plan their future in terms of investment in the region.
