Paint the grid lines

The borders (gridlines) that Excel shows when displayed in a standard way are useful for guiding data insertion in spreadsheets, and where they do not appear when printing the document. For example, if you want to print or perhaps use them to improve the look of the tables, just select the cells that will be outlined, accessing the tab Home and click the arrow to the right of the button Edges, then choose one of the options.

cell style

When using Excel, you don't need to start wasting time manually editing the look of your spreadsheets, as the program offers a variety of styles and patterns that are ready to be used. If you want to change cell styles, just select the range of cells you want to format and, in the group Style, from the guide Home, click on Cell Styles🇧🇷 Then just choose one of the several options, and where before applying the style, you'll have a “live” preview when you hover the mouse cursor over each option.

Color in worksheet tabs

You can always highlight the names of the worksheets using colors, where when you work with many of them, identification will be much easier. To activate this functionality, press the right mouse button on the worksheet name and activate the option Tab Color, and then choose the desired color.

Hide the grid lines

By default, the grid lines that Excel displays on the program's screen are only for guidance, as we've already mentioned, and where you might not want them to appear to delimit the cells on the screen. So to avoid this feature you can always hide them by unchecking the box Gridlines, in the tab Exibição.

Did you know: A function in Excel can contain up to a maximum of 225 arguments.

preconfigured themes

By selecting a range of cells and clicking on Themes, in the tab Page Layout, you will have access to standardized options that change the color style and fonts of your worksheet. Right next to this item, you can also choose different effects and manually adjust both colors and fonts. MenosFios recommends that you do the formatting carefully, so that your spreadsheet doesn't get a slightly confusing look.

border styles

In episode 01 we explain how you can apply gridlines, but let us know that in addition to the standard line, Excel also has other options for styles very interesting. These lines can be dotted, double, narrow, wide, and more. In Line Color, you can also choose the color you want.

Fill

In addition to the standard colors that you can apply as cell backgrounds, using the option Fill Color, available in the group Source from the guide Home, you can always access the window format cells and choose other fill types. Still in that same tab and group, click Dialog box indicator and then click on the tab Fill.

fill with effect

Clicking the button Fill EffectsOn Colors, you have to make sure that the option two colors is checked and, on the right (Color 1 e Color 2), and choose the colors to use for the effect. on the tab shading, you can choose the method of how these two colors will join, then give OK.

textured fill

Still on the Fill tab, you can change the default color fill to a texture. To do this, go to Default Color, choose a color and, in Default Style, select one of the texture types. Once again we emphasize that you must use the formatting resources intelligently, so as not to create a confusion of colors, since this can complicate more than help,
