The fixed telephony market in Angola has seen a steady decline in the number of customers in recent years, as shown by the most recent data from National Institute of Communications. In 2019, the total number of subscribers was 124.726, while in 2023 this number fell to 86.592, evidencing a significant retraction in the sector.
A TV Cabo continues to lead the market, maintaining a significant customer base over the years. In 2019, it had 49.677 subscribers, and, even with the market reduction, it managed to maintain a strong presence in 2023, with 37.490 customers.
A MS Telecom has also shown resilience, although it has seen its base decrease from 35.464 in 2019 to 33.854 in 2023.

Already Angola Telecom, which in the past was one of the main fixed-line telephone operators in the country, suffered a considerable drop, going from 33.574 customers in 2019 to 15.363 in 2023, indicating difficulties in customer retention.
The number of customers from other operators also remained at low levels, varying between 1.578 and 2.039 over the years analyzed.
This decline reflects the growing migration of consumers to mobile and digital solutions, which offer greater flexibility and reduced costs. The future of fixed telephony in Angola will depend on the ability of operators to innovate and offer services that meet the needs of today's market.
