The initial phase of the “Self Service Repair” will be centered on fixing the modules that are commonly repaired, such as the iPhone screen, battery and camera. The other additional elements to be repaired will only be available at the end of next year.
“Creating greater access to genuine Apple parts gives our customers even more choice if a repair is needed,” said Jeff Williams, the company's Chief Operating Officer.
"Over the past three years, Apple has nearly doubled the number of service locations with access to genuine Apple parts, tools, and training, and we're now offering an option for those who want to complete their own repairs.” he added.
