In recent days, rumors have begun to circulate about the possibility of the WhatsApp release an update that would allow a user to know if any of their messages have been forwarded to someone else. Reportedly, this action would be indicated by a (new) third blue tick.
The idea behind this third blue tick is to offer users more privacy, ensuring that users know if any of their messages have been shared with others without their knowledge or consent. Some rumors even indicate that this third blue tick is already available to some users in the form of a new option in the Privacy area of WhatsApp Settings called Enhanced Read Receipt.
BUT: WhatsApp tests feature that allows group members to choose how they identify themselves
O WABetaInfo website, which usually shares features and options in the testing phase in beta versions of WhatsApp, has no note about the development of such functionality. Neither does official WhatsApp page has no information about this option, indicating only that, currently, users see a maximum of two blue ticks – a sign that the recipient has read the message.
It is possible that this feature could be considered by WhatsApp, but at the moment there are no signs that it is actively being tested and it is simply a rumor.
