For some time now, the TikTok is frowned upon by US government officials, but now South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has signed an executive order effectively blocking the application of short videos.

count the Engadget website that the executive order in question prevents state officials, agencies, and self-employed workers from having TikTok installed on government mobile devices. The decision was justified by concerns that the application will be used by the Chinese government to gather information about US citizens.
"South Dakota will not participate in the data collection operations of nations that hate us. The Chinese Communist Party uses the information it collects on TikTok to manipulate the American people and gathers data from the devices that access the platform.", said the Republican governor.
