TikTok will leave British government officials' mobile phones

The UK government has announced that TikTok will no longer be able to be installed on mobile devices owned by civil servants – thus taking a decision similar to that which had already been announced by the USABy European Union, across Canada and other countries.

The government announcement indicates that, even if the app is not widely used by MPs and public officials, it is a move that reflects current concerns regarding the company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, to the Chinese Communist Party.

"This is a proportionate decision based on a specific risk with government provisions", can be read at release.

BUT: TikTok rejects calls for Chinese owners to sell shares

TikTok already stated that "these blocks are based on fundamental misconceptions and driven by geopolitics", tell to CNN"We remain committed to working with the government to address any concerns, but we must be judged on the facts and treated equally with our rivals.", can be read in the statement
