Payment systems in Angola are evolving gradually, with the arrival of some entities that have decided to bet heavily on mobile payments, such as the entry of UNITEL for the Mobile money market, among other existing examples.

But a big problem has always existed here, a transfer not being able to reflect on a person's account during the weekend or even on holidays, but by all indications we have the problem solved. To this end, the National Bank of Angola (BNA) launched a series of actions in coordination with the Interbank Services Company (EMIS) and commercial banks, with a view to increasing the confidence and credibility of the payment system, with emphasis on making funds available in beneficiary accounts on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

According to the BNA statement, the directive came into effect from October 1, 2022, the monetary policy regulator also guaranteed that it is currently triggering actions so that, shortly, the amounts referring to transfer operations and payments with recourse to any payment method or infrastructure, may be reflected in the beneficiaries' bank account on the immediately following day.
