Twitter is finally expanding the “Communities” feature. Four months after its release, “Communities” now hits devices Android🇧🇷 The announcement took place through its official page.

What are “Communities”?

The feature called Communities aims to create and unite groups on the social network. The mechanics will be similar to Orkut communities and Facebook groups.

In the latest version of the Twitter Android app, people will be able to find groups related to their interests and also chat with other like-minded people. With this, fans of plants, skin care, space, design and fashion can find groups on the themes and join. Even Twitter released a Wordle community, the game of the moment on the social network.

Twitter is also planning to roll out new features for Communities. The main one would be one more option for adding members. Currently a user joins the community via invitation or if it is open. But the idea is to have the option for Internet users to request participation, in which administrators could decide who to enter or not. Also under development is a ranked timeline with Q&As and ways to highlight a community's best content.

BUT: Nigeria lifts Twitter ban seven months later

The company explained that the groups will be managed by the users themselves and initially an invitation will be required to participate. The creation of the first spaces depends on approval from the platform.

Communities will always be visible to all users of the social network. Participants will be able to tweet to their timeline or just to a specific community. Please note that you must have a public account. There will be a specific area to access Communities and view tweets.
