O Twitter will pass part of its structure to the cloud, according to the company's CTO, Parag Agrawal, the social network has partnered with Google to transfer the company's entire physical data center infrastructure to Google's Cloud system.

In a note, Agrawal explains that the company currently saves 300 PB (petabyte) in data on computers.

"In recent years, we have assessed the needs of our platform and infrastructure to ensure that we are well positioned to keep up with the growing needs of our services ”.

With the move to Google Cloud, the CTO believes there will be improved productivity for engineers working with data on the platform. When the entire migration is completed, the network will become faster, more flexible, more secure and with new features, services and tools.

Brian Stevens, the CTO of Google Cloud, points out that there is a strong alignment with the engineering strategy of Twitter to meet the demands of its platform and the services offered by Google on a global scale. Data solutions and the trusted infrastructure of the Google Cloud Platform will provide Twitter with the flexibility and technical consistency required by its platform, and we look forward to continued technical collaboration with your team.

The ad does not say how long it will take for the migration to be made, but says the process should not affect users on the social network.
