Mobility apps Heetch, Kubinga and Ugo Angola are the cheapest transport services among the six existing apps in the country, revealed the News.

According to figures from the Angolan weekly, for the same route, the Lebanese app Ugo Angola has the cheapest average economic fare, which is 3.050 Kz and cars that offer more comfort charge 4.400 Kz. the national application Kubinga appears in second place, with 3.832 Kz for economy class and 4.678 Kz for comfortable class. In the last place on the podium is the French multinational Heetch, which charges an average of 4.600 for the most economical cars, while comfortable cars for the same route charge 5.200 Kz.

Speaking of the amounts of commissions that they charge to the owners of vehicles that associate with their applications, we have a great exchange in the first places, with Heetch being the cheapest, since it charges a fee of 11,4% per ride. For example, on a route that cost 1.000 Kz, the multinational keeps 114 Kz and the rest with the owner of the vehicle.

BUT: Huíla will have an electronic ticketing system in public transport

The "newbie" Yango appears in second place, where it charges a 13% fee for using the application, where 10% is for itself and the other 3% for local partners, which are those fleet management companies that have joined the company. In 3rd place and jointly are Ugo and the national application Tirosa, which charge 20% of the ride to associated vehicles. Kubinga charges 25% and T'Leva have their own cars.

It should be noted that although the “uber” service is not yet accessible to a large part of the Angolan population, due to the fact that one is connected to the internet to request the service, the Angolan market has witnessed a good expansion of these services, with the entry of multinational operators that try to improve the waiting time for passenger pick-up, as well as the rates and commissions to be charged to drivers, have been the great “weapons” for this business. And this is truly attractive for companies in this sector, taking into account the more than 9 million inhabitants of the country's capital, as well as the weak response capacity of conventional urban forms of transport.
