The constant problems and connection failures occurring on the network UNITEL is due to the reduction of foreign exchange. Failures in the network are due to the reduction of foreign exchange for the purchase of registered pressure equipment and the reduction of foreign exchange for the purchase of equipment abroad, revealed the chairman of the company's Board of Directors (PCA), Aguinaldo Jaime.

Speaking at the end of a review by deputies of the Health, Education, Higher Education and Technology Committee of the National Assembly, the manager stressed that the fact that Luanda is the largest consumer center has significantly interfered with the stability of the network.

According to what the PCA reveals, the operator is struggling with a reduction in foreign exchange, which makes it difficult to implement investments in equipment, mostly purchased in foreign currency.

With the sharp depreciation of the national currency, he highlighted, the company has a reduced capacity to make new investments in cutting-edge technology, which requires permanent updating.

Aguinaldo Jaime also pointed out access difficulties in some remote areas of the country, due to the lack of roads, as well as the existence of rough terrain.

"The vandalization of some of the company's infrastructures, by some irresponsible citizens who are unaware of the extremely important role that telecommunications play in the economic and social life of the country, affects its functioning", said.
