The mobile operator UNITEL informed that it is continuously working to improve the quality of services provided to customers, taking into account their constant complaints about the state of the aforementioned network.

According to Amílcar Safeca, executive director of the mobile phone company, speaking to Televisão Pública de Angola (TPA), Unitel customers will feel this marked improvement by the end of the year and this will continue next year, “because that's what our teams are working for and that's why investments are being made".

The official highlighted that Unitel has invested, in the last four years, around 800 million dollars to improve the network, ensuring that there are no limitations in terms of investments.

Amílcar Safeca admitted, however, that there are still flaws in the network, which essentially result from the increase in capacity that has to be done. The Unitel administrator justified the situation with “a complicated phase” registered worldwide, between 2020 and 2021, namely the Covid-19 pandemic.

"This led to some supply chains being interrupted and the supply times for technological solutions went from around three to around 12 months.”, highlighting that all of this caused a delay in the implementation of Unitel’s solutions.
