Recently the Verizon announced that it is available to buy Yahoo for 4,83 billion USD, but now with confirmation from Yahoo, ensuring that there has been an invasion of more than 500 millions of user accounts, where names, e-mails, phones and birth dates and even encrypted passwords were stolen. The company that plans to buy Yahoo is now asking for a discount.

Verizon wants a discount on the purchase of Yahoo, the value of this order is 1 billion USD, however with this discount amount the purchase would be made with 3.83 billion USD. The buyer's argument is that this discount may cover any procedural costs that Yahoo may incur after this purchase is made in full.

But according to Marissa Mayer (CEO of Yahoo), points out that Verizon has no legal basis for asking for this discount, but justifies that with the latter incidents of the company being made public has affected the value of the company, since there is a possibility that they can deal with lawsuits after this deal is closed.

Do you think this discount order is right?
