On my behalf and on behalf of the Support Bodies for the Vice President of the Republic, I would like to congratulate Mr. Pedro Beirão and the collective of employees of the national technology startup “Appy Saúde” for the honorable distinction with the Digital World 2020 Virtual Award, from International Telecommunication Union (ITU), United Nations specialized agency for Information and Communication Technologies.
The distinction in the E-Health category is the recognition it deserves for APPY Health, which has contributed to the development of the technology industry in Angola, Africa and the world, focusing on excellence in the use of new technologies for the benefit of families and society in general.
The Jury's recognition that “AppySaúde” contains “innovative technology solutions with the potential to change lives around the world”, By identifying the nearest pharmacy, with the best price and availability of medicines, also demonstrates how the use of ICTs can contribute to people's well-being, accelerate economic development and bring benefits to the country.
