Vodafone Portugal was the target of a cyberattack

A Vodafone Portugal acknowledges, in a statement, that it was the target of a cyberattack that began on Monday night. So far it has only been possible to recover mobile voice services and some mobile data services. The company says there is no evidence that customer data has been accessed and/or compromised.

"Vodafone was the target of a disruption to its network, which started on the night of February 7, 2022 due to a deliberate and malicious cyber-attack with the aim of causing damage and disruption“, says the company in a statement sent to newsrooms. 🇧🇷As it is certain that the in-depth investigation of the criminal act to which we were subject will continue for an indefinite period and with the involvement of the competent authorities, we do not have, at this date, any evidence that Customer data has been accessed and/or compromised”, adds the telecom led by Mário Vaz.

The situation is affecting the provision of services based on data networks, namely the 4G/5G network, fixed voice services, television, SMS and voice/digital answering services.
