[Web Summit 2019] Unitel Apps Contest is presented to students of Universidade Nova de Lisboa

A WebSummit It is a summit used by many companies to test their expansion plans. Interaction with partners and even competitors has proven efficient during the event.

Angolan companies are becoming more and more attentive, and this is how a meeting between African students and professors at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Unitel, Angola's largest mobile operator, arose. The event was promoted by the team of Nguzu Project, led by Tiago Cardoso.

Second Juelson Bartolomeu, responsible for the Innovation Department at Unitel:

"Unitel Apps passed about 415 applications, from first edition to 2019 edition"

Unitel has several social responsibility projects and has been supporting the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Angola, something that expand to other CPLP countries.

As a successful example, Unitel presented Kubinga, the winner of the contest Unitel Apps 2019.

Emerson Paim had the chance to share with everyone present the greatest difficulties that the Kubinga had to face to assert itself in the Angolan market and told how it has solved some of these problems.

The event also had a panel discussion, with the following guests:

  • Amelia Armando - Sheshe (Angola)
  • Tiago Cardoso - Nguzu Project (Portugal)
  • Saulo Montrond - GreenStudio (Cape Verde)
  • Diana Sales - DSBio (Brazil)

Speakers had a chance to share with the audience the reason for setting up their projects, as well as to show the biggest difficulties they faced.
