[Web Summit 2025] Prime Minister of Cape Verde praises the participation of young people in this event.

In recent years the delegation of Cape Verde has been a regular presence. at Web Summit. This year the achievement is even more impressive, being the largest Cape Verdean delegation ever (with 25 startups and more than 100 members) and the only African delegation with its own stand.

On the first day of the exhibitions, the Cape Verdean delegation entered with their flag and joy, creating a symbiosis between the digital and the traditional. The delegation, composed of young entrepreneurs, creatives, innovators, and even percussionists, raised the energy throughout the pavilion.

The Prime Minister of Cape Verde, Ulisses Correia e SilvaHe interacted with the delegation via videoconference. The leader praised the progress of the Cape Verdean delegation at the world's largest technology event, emphasizing that since their first participation in 2017 – which Ulisses e Silva attended – the growth of the digital ecosystem has been remarkable.

The Prime Minister also drew an analogy between what young entrepreneurs have been doing and the historic milestone achieved by the Cape Verdean national football team, which qualified for the World Cup, stating that the members of the delegation are “True Digital Blue Sharks, who compete fiercely, create impact, and project the country into the future.".
