WhatsApp is testing an interesting novelty for those who receive many notifications in the app. The function of archiving conversations may soon be replaced by a new feature called “Read later".
As well as archived conversations, chats marked “Read later” will disappear from the initial WhatsApp window. The big difference is that, by default, the contacts that we hide, will not reappear in the initial window if they send a new message, as it does today with archived messages.
Other forms of communication via audio or video calls are also disabled for contacts that are added to the “read later“, To reduce interruptions.
The test of the new “Read later” functionality was detected in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for the iOS version, more specifically in the beta version of WhatsApp iOS 188.8.131.52, and is expected to be launched soon for users of the application to worldwide.
Although the official dates for the full release have not been revealed, additional features that have been announced to users include advanced wallpapers (32 new shiny wallpapers and 29 new dark wallpapers), as well as new emojis.
