WhatsApp will have money transfer function

O WhatsApp will gain a function that allows the transfer of money to contacts. And it should be named WhatsApp Payments (WhatsApp Payments in Portuguese), the feature has not yet been officially announced, but is now available to some users.

According to BetaInfo, the new functionality is being tested in the beta version of the application, which is offered to some users who check the news before the others. The edition of the app to receive the function will be 2.17.295.

The ability to send and receive money from conversations may be similar to what already exists on Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Wechat, and Gmail.

In a note, it is possible to read: “immediate transfer from bank to bank by UPI (acronym that in Portuguese means Unified Payment Interface)”. UPI is a popular financial transfer system in India.

It is also possible to note that, before sending money via WhatsApp, users must agree to the privacy policy, as well as the banking terms of the application's payment platform.

The first operating system to receive the new functionality will be the Android. The Windows Phone version of the tool was also being tested. The method is expected to debut primarily in India, the United Kingdom, the United States and Poland.
