The novelty was advanced by the BetaInfo, which revealed that WhatsApp is testing the view of the photo of members of group chats for iOS and desktop users and that, soon, it will also reach Android users for testing.
If the group member does not have a profile picture or it is not available due to your privacy settings, the default profile icon will appear and will be colored using the same color as the contact's name.

It should be noted that the feature is still under development and therefore it is not yet clear when WhatsApp plans to officially launch it.
