WhatsApp will limit messages sent without reply to reduce spam

WhatsApp is implementing new restrictions to reduce the sending of unsolicited messages (spam). The platform will limit the number of messages that individuals and businesses can send to people who don't respond.

Initially designed for conversations between personal contacts, WhatsApp has gradually gained new features, such as groups, communities, and business accounts. With these changes, the volume of messages has increased significantly, making it difficult for many users to keep track of everything they receive.

With this new measure, all messages sent to people who don't respond will count toward a monthly limit, for both regular users and businesses. For example, if someone meets someone at a conference and sends them three messages without getting a response, those three messages will count toward the limit.

WhatsApp hasn't yet announced the exact maximum number allowed, as it's testing different limits in this experimental phase. However, when a user or business is close to reaching the limit, the app will display an alert, via a pop-up with the number of messages sent, to prevent them from being temporarily blocked from sending new messages.
