Workshop for the “First Generation Angola” competition scheduled for 2 June

Are you a student or teacher interested in creating a sustainable future? Join the #First generation Angola!

In September 2015, 193 Member States of the United Nations (UN), including Angola, met at United Nations Headquarters in New York and approved the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda (ODS Schedule 2030), comprising 17 goals and 169 indicators. To support the global dissemination of these objectives, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the global initiative “First Generation”.

In Angola, this initiative is being promoted by the Swedish Embassy and the United Nations Development Program in Angola (UNDP), through the “Innovation Competition FirstGeração Angola". East competition is open to university students who are invited to propose “innovative ways that ICTs can be applied to propel the achievement of the SDGs in Angola”.

Who can participate?

University lecturers and / or teachers may participate as advisors to students and as candidates to represent Angola in the global "First Generation" event in Sweden.

The “PrimeiraGeração Angola Innovation Contest”. This competition is open to university students who are invited to propose “innovative ways that ICTs can be applied to propel the achievement of the SDGs in Angola '. University professors and / or professors will be able to participate as advisors to students and as candidates to represent Angola in the global “First Generation” event in Sweden.

When?

A 'FirstGeneration' workshop will be held on 2 June of 2016, in which applicants will receive instructions and guidance on ODS and ICTs to help them improve their ideas and proposals to submit to the competition.

Registrations

To participate in this workshop, students (and teachers) enrolled in Angolan universities are invited to submit a personal profile with the following data:

1. Full name
2. Age
3. Category: student or teacher / teacher
4. University name
5. 2-3 lines on their understanding and interest in ODS and the relevance of ICTs in the implementation of ODS in Angola.

Winners

Three winning proposals will be awarded and recognized with certificates of merit during an awards ceremony that will take place at a later stage. Additional 5 best proposals will be recognized and published online by UNDP and the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the proper permission of the authors.
