Once we know what the new Mac operating system image, OSX 10.10 Yosemite, is the turn of the mobile operating system, iOS 8.

Interactive notifications

IOS 8 devices now allow you to respond directly to messages from the notification center, a feature very popular on Android devices. This functionality will not be exclusive to Apple applications, for example, we can "Like" Facebook directly in the notification area. A weight change is the possibility to add third-party widgets to the notification center.

The multitasking screen, which on iOS 7 features recently opened apps, has been redesigned and will now display favorite contacts, thus making it possible to make a call, send an SMS or chat via FaceTime with a simple click.

Audio and video messaging

According to Apple, the “Messages” application is the most used on iOS, and on iOS 8 it received all possible attention. The application will allow the exchange of audio and video messages, messages that self-destruct (as is the case with Snapchat), sharing temporary location, among other features.

Keyboards for all tastes

Apple worked on a new predictive keyboard. It offers smarter auto-completion suggestions, giving you a choice of multiple words and phrases based on the context and your complete typing history. This new feature, has been dubbed Quicktype.

But if you're one who likes a specific keyboard, Apple will finally allow users to install and third-party keyboards.

Widgets for everyone

With this new feature, widgets will be displayed in the notification center. When we install an application that supports this new feature, the notification center will warn you that “a new widget is available"And will allow it to be added.

Healthkit, the authentic “health center”

With iOS 8 comes HealthKit, an application for monitoring health and fitness data. HealthKit will act as an aggregator, where iPhone owners can check important health indicators. This app will be integrated with third-party apps and institutions, including Nike and the Mayo Clinic (good news only for those who live in the USA)

Family Sharing

Family Sharing is a new feature that will allow up to six members of a family share iTunes purchases through devices, as long as each account is linked to the same credit card. An interesting feature is that family sharing allows parents to approve or deny purchases made on their children's devices, making it more difficult for children to make purchases without parental consent.

Sharing between applications

Third-party applications may be included on the sharing screen, allowing you to easily send a photo to the Pinterest, for example (again, as it happens in that other operating system that we know well). Previously, this feature was exclusive to Twitter, Facebook and Mail.

Still in the spirit of sharing, the Touch ID, fingerprint sensor of the iPhone 5s, was made available to developers: now it will serve to access data in third-party applications, such as password managers.
